Reap retired revisions

A superseded revision is retired but kept intact, so you can revert to it. Retired revisions accumulate until you reap them.

Reap, on the Updates tab, deletes revisions that were retired longer ago than the reap window (seven days by default). It runs a dry run first, behind a confirmation, showing exactly which revisions would be removed. The live revision is never eligible, and neither is any revision still inside the window.

Reaping deletes the retired instance and its per-revision image, so the immutable history stays bounded. It is a fast set of deletes and runs inline rather than on the queue.
